Police in San Jose are investigating a shooting that killed a man this morning. Officers responded to a report of a man down in the area of Murtha Drive and Capitol Avenue at about 4:25 a.m., Sgt. Jason Dwyer said. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Dwyer said. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspect was found, and the motive of the shooting is under investigation, Dwyer said. The homicide marks the ninth in San Jose this year.
