An autopsy conducted today for a 61-year-old man believed to be killed by his son at his home near Clayton determined he suffered fatal injuries to his chest, according to a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman. The victim, Richard Wester, was found unconscious and not breathing at his home in the 400 block of Meadow View Lane around 11 a.m. Friday, Lee said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted this morning found there was blood in Wester’s chest from multiple rib fractures, Lee said. Lee would not elaborate on how he was killed or if a weapon was involved. After interviews with detectives, his 22-year-old son Matthew Wester was arrested on suspicion of murdering his father, Lee said. The son is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on $1 million bail.
