The Napa County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 29-year-old man Wednesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 8-year-old son two years ago when they all lived in Napa, a sheriff’s captain said. Jesus Rios was arrested around 9 p.m. at his home in unincorporated Napa County outside Saint Helena, Capt. Tracey Stuart said. Investigators removed three rifles and two shotguns from Rios’ home for safekeeping, Stuart said.
The 10-year-old boy told a family member his mother’s boyfriend, Jesus Rios, sexually assaulted him nearly two years ago, Stuart said. A Napa County Child Welfare Service’s social worker, who was informed of the alleged sexual assault Wednesday, then notified the sheriff’s office, Stuart said. When sheriff’s investigators interviewed the boy he said the assault happened when all three of them lived in the city of Napa, Stuart said.
Rios was booked in the Napa County Detention Center for sodomy of a victim under age 14, aggravated sexual assault, displaying pornographic material to seduce a minor and child endangerment, Stuart said.
