San Francisco police this morning are dealing with a possible hostage situation at a medical marijuana dispensary in the city’s Bayview District, a police spokesman said. The standoff began around 3:50 a.m. after suspects wearing ski masks robbed a dispensary in the 2100 block of Jennings Street, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.
Three suspects fled on foot but were arrested about two blocks away, he said. As of 8:45 a.m., officers remained at the scene and were “working under the belief that there are still people inside the building — possibly a suspect as well as employees,” Andraychak said. He said, “We’re treating it as a possible barricaded situation, possibly a hostage situation.
” Several people could be seen sitting on the ground against a building at Van Dyke Avenue and Jennings Street near officers, but Andraychak said he could not confirm who those people were. Several streets were closed off in the area, and San Francisco Municipal Railway’s 54-Felton bus line has been rerouted, Muni officials said.
