Police are investigating a body that was found at a garbage site in Pleasanton on Tuesday. At 11:45 a.m., police responded to the Pleasanton Transfer Station, located at 3110 Busch Road, after an employee reported that a deceased man had been found amongst cardboard recyclables at the garbage site.

Responding officers located the body and secured the scene prior to the arrival of police detectives. The Alameda County Crime Lab responded to assist in the processing of evidence. The deceased man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The cause of death has not been determined, but the preliminary investigation indicates that the death may have been accidental, police said.
