Santa Rosa police arrested an Oakland man on human trafficking and pandering charges Sunday, a police sergeant said. Dominque Belton, 22, was booked into the Sonoma County jail under $500,000 bail, Sgt. Terry Anderson said. Police learned Belton and the 20-year-old female victim were using the Internet to arrange meetings with clients after the FBI informed them on Saturday that the pair was in Santa Rosa, Anderson said.
Police then set up a sting operation in northeast Santa Rosa and arrested Belton without incident, Anderson said. Police also got an emergency protective order prohibiting Belton from contacting the victim, Anderson said. Police consider human sex trafficking a serious crime that victimizes young people for the profit of traffickers and pimps, Anderson said.
