Adrian Gamboa Killed in Crash While Fleeing Police In A Stolen Car in San Jose

The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision. On Sunday, February 17, 2013 at approximately 11:08 P.M., a San Jose police officer was conducting a vehicle stop in the area of Capitol Expressway and Towers Lane when a dark colored SUV type vehicle attempted to run over the officer.

The officer had to jump out of the way to prevent from getting struck by the vehicle. The officer got into his patrol vehicle and pursued the fleeing vehicle onto southbound 101 towards Blossom Hill Road. The suspect vehicle refused to stop and turned off all its lights in an attempt to escape the pursuing officers. The suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed near the 5400 block of Monterey Road in South San Jose.

The driver, suspect Adrian Gamboa, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the two passengers were taken to a local area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed the vehicle suspect Gamboa was driving was reported stolen out of San Jose.
