A Santa Rosa man with 13 driver’s license suspensions was arrested early this morning for DUI and hit-and-run after a vehicle crash south of Santa Rosa. California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat said 24-year-old Steven Medeiros crashed a Dodge pickup into a fence, fire hydrant and power pole on Anteeo Way west of Mooreland Avenue in unincorporated Sonoma County around 1:30 a.m.
Medeiros gave various explanations for the crash, stating both his brother and then a gang member was driving the car and fled the scene after the crash, Sloat said. Medeiros was unable to perform field sobriety tests, and he was booked into the Sonoma County jail for DUI and hit-and-run, Sloat said. Medeiros, who is on probation, has two prior DUI convictions and 13 prior license suspensions, Sloat said.
