Police arrested a man and a woman who attempted to cash forged checks at a bank in Fremont on Tuesday. Bank employees at Citibank, located near the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Beacon Avenue, reported to police that two suspicious people were attempting to cash forged checks, police said.

When officers arrived at the bank, the suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers detained a 51-year-old female suspect and a 37-year-old male suspect, both of Oakland, police said. According to police, both suspects later admitted to their involvement in the forging of checks.
