A suspicious object discovered at a Fremont business early Monday morning drew a bomb squad response and prompted an evacuation, police said. Around 5 a.m., an employee at a business in the 6700 block of Kaiser Drive reported a suspicious package, police said. The package was wrapped in duct tape and had been left next to a light pole in a courtyard. Employees at the business decided to voluntarily evacuate, and the Alameda County bomb squad was called in, police said. Authorities eventually deemed the package harmless.
