A clash between rival street gang members in San Jose on Sunday evening ended with one person shot, police said today. Members of two rival gangs confronted one another and exchanged words that led to a fight near the intersection of McLaughlin Avenue and Spiro Drive, several blocks from Interstate Highway 280, at around 5:20 p.m., police said.

During the fight, one person pulled out a gun and shot a rival, police said. The victim was transported to a hospital, police said. The injury was not considered life-threatening. The suspects had left the scene by the time officers arrived, police said. The shooting remains under investigation.
