Burglars crashed a stolen vehicle into a Verizon Wireless store in Pleasant Hill before the store opened Thursday morning, a police sergeant said. Officers responded around 5:35 a.m. to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the Verizon Wireless at 20 Crescent Drive, according to Sgt. Scott Vermillion. Police arriving on the scene located the vehicle and found that merchandise from the store had been stolen, but were unable to locate any suspects, Vermillion said.
Police learned that the car that drove through a storefront window had been registered stolen. The suspect who drove the car into the store abandoned the vehicle and was seen getting into a dark silver or gray SUV waiting nearby, police said.
