An ex-convict accused of shooting and killing his former neighbor during a robbery in Oakland last year was convicted of first-degree murder today, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. The jury in Alameda County Superior Court also found Gregory Gadlin, 45, an ex-convict with prior robbery convictions, guilty of felony possession of a firearm.

Police and prosecutors had alleged that Gadlin shot and killed Evan Meisner, 22, during a robbery inside a residence in the 4000 block of Lyon Avenue on March 31, 2011. Gadlin was arrested about two weeks later. He is due to be sentenced in March 29.
