A 17-year-old male killed in a suspected gang-related shooting Sunday in South San Jose has been identified as Jorge Brambila, who became the city’s fourth homicide of the year, San Jose police said. Brambila, of San Jose, and a 14-year-old male companion were found wounded by gunshots in the 1000 block of Audubon Drive after police responded to a reported shooting at 9:12 p.m., police said. Brambila was pronounced dead at about 9:27 p.m. and the 14-year-old was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting took place east of Kelley Park between McLaughlin and Lucretia avenues and about a quarter-mile west of U.S. Highway 101 in South San Jose. An unknown group of suspects approached the two victims, shot them, fled the area and remain at large, police said. Police believe that the attack was gang-related.
