San Jose Police Department Press Release 2/4/13
The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in a recent home invasion robbery that occurred in 400 Block of Mahoney Drive in East San Jose. On 2/1/2013, at approximately 1:51 A.M., two adult female victims (a mother and daughter) were home alone when the 74 year old mother heard someone breaking into her daughter’s car which was parked in front of the residence. The mother yelled at the suspect to stop. The suspect then gained entry into the residence through a front window. Once inside, the suspect punched the mother in the face repeatedly. The mother and daughter were able to flee the residence on foot.
The suspect and a second adult male suspect then chased both women down the street. The first suspect caught up to the mother in the middle of the street and assaulted her a second time. The mother was able to escape and again fled on foot. Again, the first suspect chased the mother and assaulted her a third time. During the third assault, the suspect placed a gun to the victim’s neck and threatened to kill her. The daughter was able to make it to a neighbor’s house and notify police. In the meantime, the suspects went back to the victim residence, entered it and ransacked it. The suspects took multiple pieces of property before fleeing on foot before officers could arrive.
The 74 year old mother was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where she was treated for a broken nose, multiple abrasions and bruising to her face, two black eyes, and abrasions to both arms. The 43 year old daughter was not injured. The unidentified suspects remain at-large.
