Monterey County sheriff’s deputies are looking for an armed suspect who robbed a gas station near U.S. Highway 101 late Saturday morning. The incident occurred at a Chevron gas station at 32655 Silliman Road in Soledad around 11 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office. A man in his 20s armed with a black semiautomatic gun robbed the station and demanded the clerk turn on the gas pump to fill his vehicle, sheriff’s officials said. The suspect fled in a 1990s gray four-door sedan and has not been found.
Authorities said the suspect was wearing a straw cowboy hat, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black rubber boots. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
