A girl found murdered in a Fairfield park this morning was last seen boarding a bus to school in Suisun City Thursday morning, police said today. The girl, whose identity has not yet been released, was reported missing by a guardian Thursday night around 5:44 p.m. after she failed to return home from school, Suisun City police Commander Tim Mattos said. Police in Suisun City had run out of leads around midnight last night and were continuing the investigation this morning when they were contacted by Fairfield police, Mattos said. The girl’s body was found at Allan Witt Park this morning by a citizen, who flagged down an officer around 6:45 a.m., according to Fairfield police spokesman Officer Cleo Mayoral. She was found nude, and her death is considered a homicide, Mayoral said. The girl’s name and age have not yet been released. Fairfield police have described her as a white female in her early teens. Fairfield will be the lead investigating agency on the homicide, Mattos said.
