A suspect wanted for the abduction of a 1-year-old girl from East Oakland early this morning has been taken into custody but the whereabouts of the infant have not been determined, police said. Oakland police received a 911 call at about 12:30 a.m. regarding a domestic violence dispute in the area of 94th Avenue and Holly Street, according to police.
The child’s father, 56-year-old Kim Tolfree, allegedly struck the child’s mother with a firearm and rammed her vehicle with his, police said. Tolfree then allegedly fled with the couple’s 18-month-old daughter, Izasa Tolefree, in a gray 1973 Chevrolet pickup truck with license plate No. 7N79574.
An Amber Alert was issued at about 4:30 a.m. but Tolefree has since been taken into custody, police said. However, the child and vehicle had not been found as of 7:45 a.m. and the Amber Alert remains in effect, police said.
