Oakland Police Officer in Stable Condition After Being Shot

A police officer was in stable condition tonight at an area hospital after he was shot in East Oakland, a spokeswoman said. One person has been arrested. Police had initially said two people were in custody following the officer-involved shooting, Officer Johnna Watson said.
The suspect’s identity has not been released. The Oakland Police Department officer was rushed to a local hospital after he was shot. At 5:47 p.m., police responded to the officer who was in need of assistance at East 12th Street and 49th Avenue, Watson said.
