Brandon Santana Accused Murderer has Escaped From New York Police Station

UPDATE: The Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Brandon Santana at a friend’s house in the Bronx about 37 hours after he escaped.
Accused murderer Brandon Santana has allegedly escaped from the 78th Precinct in Park Slope police station in Brooklyn. Santana had been extradited back to New York to face a murder charge the happened on August 1, 2010.
Police report that Santana asked an officer to open the cell door so he could go to the bathroom. When the officer opened the door, Santana knocked the officer down and fled the scene. Santana is accused of allegedly beating Alexander Santiago to dead with a lead pipe. Santana was part of a gang of about 30 men that ambushed Santiago and two other victims. One of the other victims was stabbed 20 times but lived.
