Parents in Antioch are on high alert this morning after a man reportedly tried to lure a student into his car outside of an elementary school Thursday. A boy was walking outside Sutter Elementary School at 3410 Longview Road on Thursday afternoon when a man approached and told him that he had been sent by a family member to pick him up.
The man then told the boy to get in his car, according to a message from school principal Paula McEvoy to parents. The student said, “I don’t know you,” and walked away, according to the principal’s statement. Police were notified, but the suspect had not been located as of this morning.
He is described as a white man with gray hair and gray stubble and was last seen driving a light blue, 70s-era car. McEvoy said school personnel are monitoring the area around the school today and are planning to speak to the students about “stranger danger.”
