Man Walks into San Jose Regional Medical Center with a Gunshot Wound

A man was shot in the leg in East San Jose this afternoon, police said. The victim walked into San Jose Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the lower leg at 4:41 p.m. Police concluded he had been shot in the area of Quimby Road and Ruby Avenue. The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.
Police said that the shooting is not related to another shooting earlier this afternoon that left a woman dead. The woman was shot inside a residence in the 2600 block of Ponselle Court shortly after 1:30 p.m. She was rushed to a hospital, but died about an hour later. Police have not made any arrests in either shooting.
