Ramiro Lozares Arrested At San Francisco International on One Million Warrant for Alleged Fatal Hit and Run

On January 16, 2013, Santa Clara Police officers met with Customs and Border Protection Agents at the San Francisco International Airport and arrested Ramiro Lozares without incident for felony hit and run. Lozares has been in the Philippines for the past two years.

On January 12, 2011, Ramiro Lozares collided with a motorcyclist on Scott Blvd. in the area of Olcott St., and then fled. Soon after, Santa Clara Police officers located Ramiro Lozares and arrested him for hit and run. The victim later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. Lozares fled to the Philippines and did not appear in court for his second court appearance. The honorable Jerome Nadler from Santa Clara County Superior Court issued a one million dollar bench warrant for Lozares arrest.
