Police are continuing to investigate a shooting in Antioch last week that they said stemmed from a bar fight. Around 10:50 p.m. Friday, officers heard gunfire in the area of East 16th and A streets, police said. As they drove toward the sound, dispatchers received several reports of shots fired near East 16th Street and Marie Avenue, police said. The officers arrived at the scene and found 14 shell casings and an unoccupied car that had crashed into the front yard of a home in the 1600 block of Marie Avenue.

Investigators learned that a man had gotten into a fight with other patrons at a local bar and restaurant, then fled the business. The other patrons chased him in their car and shot at him several times but did not hit him, police said. No injuries were reported in the shooting, which is being investigated as an attempted murder.
