Oakland Police Officer Shot, Manhunt Underway for Suspects

Police are searching an East Oakland neighborhood this evening for several suspects believed to be involved in shooting an officer in the arm, police said. The Oakland police officer was shot in the arm at 6:22 p.m. in the 1700 block of Seminary Avenue, according to police. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police have shut down the area around the shooting scene and are searching for the suspects. Access to the area has been restricted. Police have asked residents in the area who may have seen something suspicious to call 911 or (510) 777-3211. Police have not provided a description of the suspects nor revealed how many suspects remain at large.
