Police are seeking two men who committed a takeover robbery at a restaurant in Salinas on Thursday evening. The robbery was reported at 5:53 p.m. at Olivia’s Cafe, located at 14 Station Place. The two suspects went into the restaurant with semi-automatic handguns and one held four customers at gunpoint, demanding that they put all of their cash on the table, according to police. The other suspect took money from the cash register and the restaurant owner’s purse before the pair fled toward the nearby Amtrak train station. They remain at large, police said.

The suspects were described as Hispanic men in their mid 30s who were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black beanies, black sunglasses and both had the bottom of their sweatshirts pulled up so only their mustaches could be seen, police said. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call Salinas police at (831) 758-7321.
