Police arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of attempting to rape and kidnap two women in a Taco Bell parking lot in Milpitas last week. Milpitas police arrested Fair Oaks resident Alexander M. Lowe after responding to numerous 911 calls at about 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 6, reporting a man attacking a woman in a parking Taco Bell parking lot, located in the 700 block of S. Main Street, police said.
One of the callers reported seeing the suspect armed with a screwdriver and attempting to rape a victim, according to police. Officers arrived on scene within two minutes and located the suspect holding a victim on the ground and threatening her with a screwdriver, police said. Lowe refused to comply with officers’ commands. Officers then used a Taser to subdue him and take him into custody, police said.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that Lowe had attempted to sexually assault two women in the parking lot and attempted to kidnap one of the victims by physically forcing her into his vehicle, a 1996 gray Ford Explorer, according to police. The victims, ages 34 and 19, are both residents of Alviso, police said.
Police booked Lowe into the Santa Clara County Jail for attempted rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon, terrorist threats, resisting arrest and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
