Jonathan Alcazar killed and a second victim was injured in a shooting in East Palo Alto on Illinois

A 24-year-old man was killed and a second victim was injured in a shooting in East Palo Alto this afternoon, police said. Police received a ShotSpotter activation alerting them to the shooting in the 2600 block of Illinois Street at 1:47 p.m. Officers found the victim, identified as Jonathan Alcazar of East Palo Alto, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition tonight, police said. No suspects have been identified in the shooting and police have not determined the motive.
