San Joaquin District Attorney’s Office has cleared Officer John Moody and deemed the right use of force. In June 2011, Manteca Police had dispatched information to their officers that Ernest Duenez Jr., was a parolee-at-large, and was armed and dangerous after incidents earlier in the day. An investigation into the shooting says Duenez had a knife in his hand when he was getting out of the truck. The officer who fired was cleared by the San Joaquin District Attorney this week, the report stating the officer was justified in his use of lethal force Duenez had a long criminal history including Assault with a Deadly Weapon and three prison sentences.
