Oakland police recovered a firearm and arrested a suspect in connection with shots fired in East Oakland Saturday morning, police said.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the area of the 1900 block of 82nd Avenue that led to a safe arrest and firearm recovery, police said. Dispatchers also received multiple 911 calls from citizens in the vicinity who described a man walking in the area while shooting a firearm, according to police.
