Vallejo police are offering a $10,000 reward in connection with a Christmas Eve hit and run that has left the victim in critical condition. The victim, a 54-year-old Vallejo resident, was crossing Broadway Street at Hogan Avenue around 5:19 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2012, when they were struck by a black two-door Honda Civic, with a model year between 1996 and 2000, Officer George Simpson said today.
Police indicated at the time of the crash that the Honda might have been involved in a speed contest with another vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and has not been located, but there should be damage to the front passenger side including a broken right head light, broken bumper, damaged hood and possibly a broken windshield, Simpson said. The victim was taken to John Muir Hospital and remains in critical and unstable condition, Simpson said.
