San Francisco police arrested the driver of a stolen vehicle after a pursuit through the city’s Potrero Hill neighborhood, a police officer said. Officers were tracking the vehicle through an installed LoJack vehicle recovery system and located it near the area of 18th Street and De Haro Street, Officer Carlos Manfredi said. The driver of the car fled, leading police on a pursuit that wound through city streets and onto Interstate Highway 80, Manfredi said.

At that point, the California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit, but lost track of the vehicle when it reentered city streets. A San Francisco officer spotted it again, leading to another brief pursuit, but lost it again until another officer found the car parked in the 700 block of De Haro Street, not far from where it was initially located. The driver fled on foot and was arrested there with the assistance of a CHP helicopter. Police remain in the area with a perimeter to search for any possible remaining suspects, Manfredi said.
