A man was pistol-whipped and a shot was fired during a home invasion in San Francisco’s Mission District late Friday night, police said today. The incident was reported at 11:58 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Hampshire Street. The 24-year-old victim was leaving his house when two suspects confronted him and forced him back inside, according to police. The victim was then pistol-whipped by one of the suspects and a shot was fired inside the home, police said.

The suspects, described only as two men in their 20s, then fled and had not been found as of this morning, according to police. The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for a head injury that was not considered life-threatening, police said.
