Two of the three new suspects recently arrested in last month’s murder of a Monte Sereno man are expected to be arraigned on murder charges in Santa Clara County Superior Court later this week, according to Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police. Javier Garcia and Deangelo Austin, both 21, will likely be arraigned after the New Year’s Day holiday for the Nov. 30 murder of Raveesh Kumra Kumra inside his home in the 18000 block of Withey Road near Beck Avenue in Monte Sereno, police said.
Oakland police on Thursday arrested Garcia after working the case with Los Gatos police. Then on Saturday, Sacramento police officers captured Austin in cooperation with Los Gatos and San Jose police as well as members of a regional law enforcement task force, police said.
A third suspect, Lucas Anderson, 26, was arraigned on murder charges Friday after investigators interviewed and arrested him while he was in custody at the Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose on an unrelated criminal charge, police said. A fourth suspect in the case, Raven Dixon, 22, was arraigned in court on Dec. 21 on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder in Kumra’s death.
The body of 66-year-old Kumra, a wealthy investor and the former owner of the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, was found inside his home after his wife had called police at about 1:30 a.m. to report that she had been injured when a burglar entered and ransacked the couple’s home, police said.
