Police in Palo Alto are searching for two men in black masks who robbed a liquor store at gunpoint on Saturday night. Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at Century Liquors at 3163 Middlefield Road at about 7:55 p.m., according to Palo Alto police. Two suspects had entered the store and demanded alcohol and cash from a store clerk, police said. Both men were armed with semi automatic handguns, police said. The suspects took about $230 worth of alcohol and an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not injured, and he did not see the suspects get into a vehicle when they fled.
Police immediately responded and launched a search that included a K-9 unit from Mountain View police and a helicopter from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects were not found. They were described as black men in their 20s. One suspect was about 6 feet tall with a thin build and the second suspect was about 5 feet 10 inches tall. Both were wearing black masks, black jackets and dark pants.
Anyone who might have information about the case is asked to contact Palo Alto police at (650) 329-2413.
