A women’s dog is dead after a man robbed her and then threw her dog into the street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District Friday afternoon, a San Francisco police spokesman said. The woman pulled over in the first block of Leavenworth Street around 5 p.m. to use her cellphone, according to San Francisco police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy, when a suspect approached her and demanded money.

The victim complied and gave the suspect money when her dog in the car started barking. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s wallet and the dog from the car, Shyy said. The man threw the dog onto the street and then fled on foot. The woman took the dog to the veterinarian where it succumbed to injuries from being thrown, Shyy said. Police are searching for the suspect, who was only described as a black man in his 30s.

  • I feel for this woman and the loss of her precious dog. I just hope this incident is a reminder to society that the electronic gadgets that distract us and our lives can give rise to poor choices that can have serious consequences.

San Francisco’s Tenderloin is the penal system’s dumping ground as the majority of its inhabitants are parolees, society’s lowlifes–basically walking zombies on whatever illegal drug they robbed and stole things to buy. There are decent people in the community who either work or live there yet are outnumbered by the criminal element.

Close ALL windows. Lock ALL doors and make NO eye contact, as you drive through this district towards or away from downtown. Teach your children the same so that this unfortunate incident. And NEVER take out your wallet in your car or while walking to give anyone money in The City.
    My condolence to this woman.
