Walnut Creek Police Shoot and Kill Armed Suspect Inside Diablo Pointe Apartments

Police officers shot and killed an armed suspect at a Walnut Creek apartment complex early this morning, police said. A 911 call in which someone was screaming in the background was transferred to police from county fire dispatch at 3:13 a.m., police said. Officers responded to the Diablo Pointe Apartments at 1450 Creekside Drive. Shots were fired inside an apartment at the complex at about 3:19 a.m., police said.
Police said the officers were forced to shoot the suspect, an adult. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured, and no other suspects are being sought, police said. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as the case is investigated by police, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office and the county crime lab.
