Man Fatally Shot In Oakland While Fleeing From Armed Suspect

A man fleeing from a suspect with a gun was shot and killed in West Oakland this afternoon, according to police. The shooting was reported in the 1200 block of 26th Street, between Magnolia and Union streets, at 2:33 p.m. Police said the victim, a 32-year-old man, had been standing on 24th Street when a suspect approached him in a vehicle, got out and fired several rounds. The victim ran, and the suspect got back in the car, followed him and then got out of the car again and opened fire. The victim was struck by gunfire and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 3 p.m. Police did not have any additional details about the suspect in the case.
