A Christmas gathering at an Alameda home turned violent Tuesday night when one family member stabbed four others, an Alameda police sergeant said. The stabbings were reported at 10:18 p.m. at a home in the 400 block of Willie Stargell Avenue, Alameda police Sgt. Jeff Emmitt said. The victims were three females and one male. A female suspect was taken into custody at the home, Emmitt said.

Some of the victims were taken to hospitals for treatment, but none of the wounds were considered life-threatening, he said. Emmitt said it appears the family was gathered at the home when an argument began. At some point during the argument the suspect used either a kitchen or pocketknife to stab the four others, he said. The case remains under investigation.
