San Jose Police Press Release 12/24/12
The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating the City’s 45th homicide of 2012. On 12/21/2012, at approximately 2:59 A.M., San Jose Police Officers responded to the 1600 block of Oakland Road in North San Jose on a report of a male who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers located 30 year old Steve Bangalan suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim Bangalan was transported to a local area hospital were he was pronounced deceased at 3:38 A.M.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that their was a private party at business in the area. The victim Bangalan was suffering from at least one stab wound when police arrived. Medical personnel arrived and the victim was immediately transported to the hospital. The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation, however it is not believed to be gang related.
