Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a downtown San Rafael bank this afternoon, a police spokeswoman said. An alarm alerted San Rafael police to a robbery at the Citibank at 666 Third St. shortly before 5 p.m., police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said. A suspect had demanded cash from a teller there. He then left the bank and was seen running north on Tamalpais Avenue.
He was described as a white man between 20 and his early 30s, about five feet eight inches tall and slender. He has a shaved head and a slight beard. He has tattoos on his head, neck and hands. He was wearing a red hoodie, jeans and sunglasses during the robbery. It was unclear if he was armed during the robbery but no weapon was seen.
