Qingjun Sun and Marchae Jackson homicide victims fatally shot in Oakland

A man who was fatally shot outside his home in East Oakland on Tuesday night was identified by police today as 56-year-old Qingjun Sun. Sun was shot to death at about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday in front of his home in a new housing development in the 800 block of Hawkins Drive, near 92nd Avenue. Officers responding to the shooting found Sun suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Oakland police today also identified a man who was shot to death while sitting in a car outside his East Oakland home last Friday night as 39-year-old Marchae Jackson. The shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. Friday in the area of East 16th Street and Seminary Avenue, near the Rainbow Recreation Center.
