A man and a teenage boy were arrested after attempting to burglarize a business in San Mateo on Friday, police said. Police responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 3700 block of South El Camino Real about 10:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found two males climbing down some scaffolding carrying a flat-screen TV, police said. The officers set up a perimeter and quickly detained the pair.

The suspects, identified as Patrick Solomon Hall, 26, and a 16-year-old boy, both San Francisco, were arrested. The investigation indicated that Hall and the boy had made their way into the business through a roof hatch and had taken the TV, police said. Hall was booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary. The juvenile was arrested for trespassing and marijuana possession and was later released to a parent.
