Two people were found bound and gagged in the middle of a Bayview District street this evening suffering from life threatening injuries, according to a San Francisco police spokesman. The victims, a man and a woman, were found around 8:30 p.m. tonight on the 900 block of Brussells Street, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Both were alive, but the man was unconscious, Esparza said. Both have been taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. The nature of the pair’s injuries, their identities, and the motive for the crime all remain unknown at this time, Esparza said. There are no suspect descriptions available yet and police have been unable to interview the victims.

Crime scene investigators are searching the area for evidence, and police are asking anyone with information on this incident to call. The 900 block of Mansell is closed while the investigation continues.
