Russell Roy Identified as Fatal Hit and Run Victim in San Jose

The pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident in San Jose on Wednesday has been identified as 51-year-old Russell Roy of San Jose, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office reported today. Roy died of multiple blunt force injuries and a skull fracture, the coroner’s office said. Roy was crossing the street in the area of South White and Quimby roads at about 5:45 p.m. when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV or van, according to the San Jose Police Department.

He was transported to a hospital and died of his injuries at about 11 p.m., police said. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and neither the driver nor the vehicle have been located, police said.
