Assault Suspect Arrested By San Francisco Police After Using Scaffolding To Flee From Police

An assault suspect who climbed onto scaffolding on Embarcadero while fleeing police this afternoon has been taken into custody, according to San Francisco police. The suspect allegedly assaulted two people around 1:30 p.m. at 1 Embarcadero, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. Police said he struck one person with a skateboard and kicked the other before fleeing and climbing up onto the scaffolding. He remained on the scaffolding for a little over two hours before coming down. Esparza said the suspect is being taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
