74 Year Old Man Stabbed in Gilroy

A 74-year-old man was stabbed Thursday afternoon in Gilroy, according to police. Police received a report of a stab victim who arrived at a local hospital at about 2 p.m. The victim, a Gilroy resident, sustained a stab wound to his torso and was transferred to a nearby trauma center by ambulance. The victim’s stab wound is not considered to be life threatening, police said.
The preliminary police investigation revealed that the suspect attacked the victim near the 100 block of Lewis Street, about a block from the Gilroy Public Library. The suspect is described as a white man in his mid to late 20s with blonde hair. He was last reported to have been wearing “dirty” tan clothing. The motive for the assault has not been determined and the incident remains under investigation.
