Police said a man and a woman were injured in a gang-related attack by multiple male suspects near a school track in Watsonville on Tuesday. A 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were treated at Watsonville Community Hospital at 6:08 p.m. Tuesday, after they were approached by four to five males who yelled gang-related slogans and then attacked them close to the track at the Rolling Hills School at 130 Herman Drive, police said.
The man was battered and stabbed once in his torso with a knife while the woman suffered from lacerations and contusions on her face and body, police said. The couple fled after the assault and made it to the hospital, where they made contact with a Watsonville police officer and reported the attack, police said. The two victims were treated for injuries not considered to be life threatening, police said.
