Petaluma High School Student Arrested for Alleged Possession of One Pound of Marijuana for Sale

Police arrested a high school student for possession and transportation of marijuana for sale on Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in Petaluma. Police received a report of a reckless driver in the 800 block of Rancho Way at 3:48 p.m. Police stopped the vehicle in a residential area for speeding. Two 16-year-old male high school students occupied the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is a student at San Antonio High School and the passenger is a student at Casa Grande High School, according to police. Police searched the vehicle and found one pound of marijuana that had been separated into salable amounts.

During the investigation, police discovered that marijuana had been sold to local high school students. The driver was arrested and booked at the Petaluma Police Department for transportation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. The driver was later released to a parent, police said. The passenger in the vehicle was cited in the field and released to a parent, according to police.
