The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating its 43rd homicide of 2012. On Friday, 11/30/2012, at approximately 11:33 P.M., the San Jose Police Departments 9-1-1 Communications Center received a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers located a 17 year old male victim suffering from at least one gun shot wound.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim, later identified as 17 year old Daniel Capetillo, was shot by unknown suspect(s). The suspect(s) fled the scene and remain at-large and unidentified. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 P.M. The San Jose Police Departments Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives are exploring the possibility that the homicide was gang related. No further details are being released at this time.
